Amit Garg, also a 1993-batch IPS officer, has been appointed as the head of the NCRB. He is currently working as the Director of the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy. Garg's appointment is through temporary upgradation of the post to the Director General level, and he will serve until October 31, 2027, or until further orders.
In a related development, Sujeet Pandey, a 1994-batch IPS officer, has been appointed as the Director of the Sardar Vallabhbhai Patel National Police Academy.
