Iran launched fresh attacks on US military bases in Jordan, Kuwait, and Bahrain as Washington conducted a six-hour wave of strikes across Iran overnight, marking the sixth day of renewed hostilities. The exchanges follow US President Donald Trump’s warning that Iran must "better behave" or face further action if it does not return to negotiations.

Escalating strikes in the Strait of Hormuz

The US military targeted command centers, air defense sites, and coastal surveillance facilities in Iran, including the port city of Bandar Abbas and Greater Tunb Island, according to US Central Command. Explosions were reported across Iran, with air defenses activated in Tehran.

Iran’s military said it struck US communication systems and fuel storage facilities in Jordan. Meanwhile, US allies in the Gulf reported intercepting drone attacks in Kuwait and urging citizens in Bahrain to seek shelter.

Diplomatic standoff continues

Iran’s top negotiator, Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, stated Tehran had "no reason" to abide by any agreement that did not benefit the country, emphasizing that national security depended on maintaining control in the Strait of Hormuz. Trump had earlier threatened to target Iran’s energy infrastructure if talks did not resume.

Separately, the US disabled a Curacao-flagged oil tanker attempting to reach a blockaded Iranian port, according to Centcom. The latest developments suggest further escalation unless diplomatic efforts resume.
